About Omicron

What: Upsilon Pi Epsilon is the first and only international honor society in the Computing and Information Disciplines. It has received endorsements from the two largest computer organizations in the world, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the IEEE Computer Society (IEEE-CS). UPE is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). Visit UPE's website for more information.

Why: Share ideas and experience with other motivated computer science students. Learn from computer scientists and professionals from other disciplines. Gain exposure to diverse and advanced computing and information science topics.

• Undergrad: A 3.3 GPA overall
• Grad: A 3.5 GPA in their graduate studies
• Alumni: Met requirements for Undergrad or Grad
• Faculty: Teaching or research for 1 year at CSUF

Further eligibility requirements must also be met.

Costs: $20 Omicron Membership fee, $35 UPE Membership Fee.
These fees are one time only, and must be paid before membership is granted.

Rules: Omicron has a Constitution and By-Laws, and UPE also has a Constitution and By-Laws.
These documents contain detailed information on eligibility, elections, membership, fees, conduct, and meetings. Potential members must read and understand the constitution and by-laws for UPE and Omicron prior to their initiation.

Speakers: A variety of speakers will present their work or research in computer science and related fields. Locations and times will be announced two weeks in advance. Please feel free to suggest any topics or speakers you are interested in.

Trips: Trips will be made to companies and research facilities involved in the computing and information sciences. Locations and times will be announced two weeks in advance. Please feel free to suggest any locations we could visit.
